# 2026-04-20 — Evening Update

### Research progress

Dataset collected, model trained on it, test streaming inference portal built — all looking good. Didn't get to deployment yet. That's tomorrow's priority: deploy, collect more data, train again, deploy again. Lab meeting tomorrow too.

### Relationship

Slow day with some relationship drama. It's weighing on things.

### Reflection — Confidence and energy

The thing I'm focusing on most right now is repairing my energy — having more confidence, feel-good energy, presence. That's probably the best currency in life.

Hard part: during a PhD, not much money, so external validation signals are sparse. But the confidence I'm chasing isn't about that. It's more about a general feel-good energy — feeling good for no reason.

**Insight:** I feel amazing waking up from a nap. That effortless good energy. Going to try incorporating a mini afternoon nap into the routine.

**Tomorrow:** Try napping around 4pm in the wellness room (has a lock and a lounge chair). See if it helps reset energy for the evening.
